Specifying Blank Template Parameters
In addition to data fields, templates contain parameters. A parameter defines the reporting criteria,
specifically the report’s entities, date range, time range, and interval, where applicable. You must
specify a template’s parameters before the report can be generated.
Refer to Specifying Template Parameters on page 33 for more information.
Customizing a Blank Template
Blank templates can be customized in the same ways as predefined templates. Refer to Customizing a
Template on page 35 for details.
Saving a Blank Template with a New Name
After you have added data fields to a blank template, specified the parameters, and customized the
template, you can save the template under a new name. Refer to Saving a Template with a New Name
on page 40 for details.
Saved templates are considered to be predefined templates and are accessible from the Open
window.
Generating a Report from a Blank Template
There are two ways to generate a report, either manually or by scheduling the report to be
automatically generated at a later time.
Refer to Manually Generating a Report on page 41 and Automatically Generating a Report
(Scheduling a Report) on page 41 for specifics.
